A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam messages, but this problem can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you have a web hosting plan with us and you wish to activate the catch-all feature for a given email mailbox that you have in your account, it will take literally just one single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one single address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all email messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notification and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with several mouse clicks if you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be administered via our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses under any domain name hosted there. To enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox, you’ll need to click the icon with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be achieved in the same way and will not take more than one click either. If the catch-all option has already been activated for a given domain, you’ll get a warning note. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never modify or disable anything automatically.
